Peace Lily

I am ashamed to say that this plant is the only one that has lasted any time.  Annabel gave it to me on the first anniversary of Mum’s death, she is so thoughtful.  It had flowers when it arrived but none since, I’m not surprised since it has survived on neglect for nearly 4 years.  Home at the moment is in the front room which is L’s temporary bedroom and it’s filled with furniture and other displaced items.  Dust and debris don’t seem to be doing it any damage, I must wipe down the leaves and I think L pours the odd bit of water into the pot now and again.  Does anyone know how to get it to flower again?

This is my contribution to week 7 of Nature in the Home at little green shed. Joining in with Lou.

Day Fifty-Two

Some of the tiles are up and I am delighted with how they look.  We have a few little things to iron out with tiling under the window but I’m sure we’ll sort it out tomorrow.  Everything for the upstairs bathroom is here too which is great.

F is finally feeling a bit better after a trip to the docs this afternoon.  He has literally slept for two days but now he is ‘managing’ to play minecraft so I’m guessing calpol and antibiotics are doing the trick at last.

I’m looking  forward to seeing the bath upstairs in place and everything coming together.  Then there will be the almighty sorting of stuff and probably more trips to the dump.  Hey ho.

Day Fifty-One

We have lots more lights, a bath panel, latches on the cupboards and a free draining bath today along with more skirting and plywood on the upstairs bathroom floor.  The door to the ensuite has also been installed which looks good, despite the plaster still drying.

That’s it today, got a poorly F who’s been sleeping all day at home with his Dad.  I’m hoping he’s a bit better tomorrow after a good night’s sleep – it’s horrible when they’re ill.
