Day Fifty-Four

Nearly eleven weeks and it really is coming together.  Thought we may take a little look at where we started as a reminder as to how far we’ve come.

Thought you might like to see F’s titanic again, lots of folk have told me it has been their favourite photo on the blog.  It is looking a little decrepit now in real life.

All that’s left is to say is have an amazing weekend, mine’s going pretty well so far, 2 hours in a cafe with a good friend and not one of our children in sight.  Bliss. xx

Day Fifty-Three

tantalising shower, nearly there....
tantalising shower, nearly there….

Lots and lots of bathroom activity today resulting in tiling round the bath and a shower enclosure with shower in.  Not ready to use I’m sorry to report.  Never mind, another day or two won’t make any difference now.

Still some grout to go and probably another couple of rows of tiles above the bulkhead, we are thinking about it overnight.  I am so pleased to see such a difference in a day and the look is exactly what I hoped for.  We even have lights that work in there, things are coming on indeed.

The lights upstairs are working now and another exciting installation is going on upstairs too, I’ll show you what soon.

I am ashamed to say that this plant is the only one that has lasted any time.  Annabel gave it to me on the first anniversary of Mum’s death, she is so thoughtful.  It had flowers when it arrived but none since, I’m not surprised since it has survived on neglect for nearly 4 years.  Home at the moment is in the front room which is L’s temporary bedroom and it’s filled with furniture and other displaced items.  Dust and debris don’t seem to be doing it any damage, I must wipe down the leaves and I think L pours the odd bit of water into the pot now and again.  Does anyone know how to get it to flower again?

This is my contribution to week 7 of Nature in the Home at little green shed. Joining in with Lou.
