National Museum of Scotland

Looking for leaves
Well hello there

Edinburgh has lots going on around Hogmanay and we decided to join in and headed up to the National Museum of Scotland for this mystery tour of the city yesterday. Until we saw this queue. If you know the museum then you’ll get how long it was.  It started in the main section then looped in and round into the animals then all the way back thorough the main, through past Connect into the new building.  Immense.

We ended up having a good look round the museum instead, it really is a must see if you come up to Edinburgh, with or without children. Hours can melt away while  you wonder up and down the stairs, investigate the hard to navigate ‘new’ building and virtually drive a formula 1 car.  The animals have always been my favourite, they were away while the place was renovated but now they’re back and literally fill the gallery.

the leatherback turtle is awesome, I once saw one laying eggs on the beach in Malaysia, it looks cumbersome on land but it is so graceful in the ocean
can you guess what this is?

I have a favour to ask now, did anyone record Chewing the Fat on Hogmanay?  My Dad was in it and my husband and my sister were delighted to see him putting in an appearance – I was in bed and missed it and we don’t know which episode it was to look up on youtube.  thanks, x
