Day Seventy-Four

This blog is not as prolific as I’d like it to be, the works have nearly stopped but the regeneration certainly hasn’t, not by a long way.

We had some shelves and lots of bits and bobs done on Saturday.  C and I both have our eye on these shelves in the spare room cupboard, there are 5 so we may have to do a deal.  The ensuite shower went in on Friday, as you saw, it is brilliant, it was worth all the time it took to choose it.  Now for the flooring….vinyl or Harvey Maria?

These hooks are for the upstairs bathroom. All they need is a lick of paint and we can put them up.  That makes it sound so easy eh?  I have sanded them so it shouldn’t take long once I actually get round to doing it.  The back bedroom has had some more paint but it is going slowly for sure.  The carpets should be in soon which  will make such a difference to the children’s rooms upstairs.  It is so warm up there it’s amazing, they’re pretty settled up there.  Feels like forever until I’ll move up there to join them.

We had the electricians in today to install this magic mirror, the circle is the light, this is one of the few things we have seen on our travels that C really wanted – so here it is.  The upstairs bathroom is finished now, needs a good clean! (apart from the pegs of course, always one more thing to do).

Other Stuff

Goldfish, yum, never seen these here before so I had to get them.

Here’s a random snack found today, I used to get them in Malaysia as a treat from the import supermarket TMC.  This is the first time I’ve seen them here, not that I’ve ever actually looked for them.  I’m guessing they hail from the USA.  They’re lovely.

Day Seventy-One

We had a last minute bit of work today, the tiler arrived about 4pm and  he finished off the upstairs bathroom tiles and finally got the last blue tile down in the downstairs bathroom.

The  children are getting used to their new rooms upstairs, it will be much better once the carpet is in.  The upstairs bathroom has been painted, after 8 tester pots, from dark intense blue to light grey, it is white!  F is not liking all the white, he said tonight that it looks like the bathroom is decomposing because it’s white and grey, not sure of his logic really.  We’ve agreed  to keep it white until we find the perfect colour, if it exists.  I love the white…

Other Random Stuff

Here are a couple of photos from the weekend, hope you like them, x

We really are getting closer now, there is just so much more stuff everywhere – maybe we should just chuck it all and start again.  As many of you know that would be impossible for me!

Day Sixty-Three

We had a wee visit today but no actual work – I am counting it though since someone did come here regarding the works.

Borough Market

Have a look at these images from the incredible Borough Market.  No explanations necessary, the images speak for themselves.

Did you notice the price of the Morels?  L could not get over how much they were.  We didn’t buy any Morels but did buy the biggest chocolate brownies you’ve ever seen,  even L could not manage a whole one and that’s saying something.

Other Stuff

The concert last night was brilliant, those children can fair perform that’s for sure.  F the percussionist was fabulous, he did not miss a beat and his playing has improved massively.  My heart filled with pride for him, not least because he was very nervous and really did not want to ‘do it’.  You would never have known looking at him standing there. I’m a very proud Mum today.

Now it’s time to wish you a good weekend, I’m off to a flea market with some friends tomorrow, should be fun x
