Day Thirty-Four

That’s us at seven weeks now, wow, this week has really flown in.  New stairs, lights decided on, windows organised, skeleton walls with some solid plasterboard up. The progress is incredible if you look back at these.

Here’s today’s photos, hope you like them,

Friday afternoons have evolved a new ritual recently, the clear up for the weekend.  The hall goes through a huge dust removal procedure (extreme hoovering) and the bathroom gets cleaned and given its weekend look.  The colours in the mat are brilliant.

Other Stuff

We have some new improved dogs today, I always forget how funny they look when they’ve been clipped.  I think they look at little embarassed – what do you think?

There’s a bit of a running theme going on here this weekend, F is doing a sponsored run tomorrow and C  is doing a half marathon on Sunday. The closest thing to running I’ll be doing is running after them I suspect. Good on them though.

Just took this picture of Lucy relaxing, she’s so funny.

All that’s left to say is have a fabulous weekend x

Day Thirty-Three

We have skeleton rooms now, it is brilliant to see the space divided up and the zones making sense.  The two front rooms are a good size and the bathroom seems tiny.  I’ve been in with my measuring tape making sure I can fit my wider bath in.   I can.  We need to think about where to put the sink though to allow for a rather bright mirror my husband spotted when we were looking for bathrooms.  Looking good eh?

These two cabinets have been upstairs and moved about the whole time the upstairs has been getting done.  They originally fitted in the space where the little toilet was, before it was installed.  They sit one on top of the other and I have them earmarked to go in the front room eventually.  I need to clean them up and they will get painted white.  Once we have some room somewhere they will finally make it down the stairs.  Nobody knows how they ever got up the old stairs in the first place.  A mystery.

Other Stuff

H has these permanently on her head ready for Comic Relief, funny how quickly you get used to something daft like these! RND_Boppers_140_v1_m56577569834367805Her other excitement is having 7 newborn chicks in her classroom.  She is at the back so she is keeping a good eye on them.  I was introduced to them after school today, very cute indeed.

The boys are loving playing Minecraft with pals online. Wish I understood why it is so exciting or is the whole idea that I don’t get it I wonder…

Day Thirty-Two

What a funny day it’s been.  Sun, snow, hailstones, wind, great bright blue skies and a chill in the air.  These tulips would manage to cheer even the most solemn face. tulips

We had a visit from the window man, that’s the next big step.  Today’s big questions were how many astragals on the upstairs windows and what lighting to have upstairs.  All sorted now.

Two pictures from upstairs today, one from the front, the other from the back.  The whole perimeter is plasterboarded now and the ceiling (or walls, depending on who you ask) is next.

p.s.  Look what I got for Mothers’ Day.   I swear you would get 8 cups from it, it’s massive.  I’m saving it for once the regeneration is done.  I absolutely love it to bits.  Thanks to my lovely children and husband xxxxx
