Day Seventy-Seven

The person doing the regeneration today was me, only me.  At last my ‘bedroom to be’ is all white.  It has taken an age and has meant overcoming severe inertia but I’ve done it.  It is not actually FINISHED, oh no, but all it needs is a final coat tomorrow and it will be done.

day 68 004 day 68 003The carpet people have said that the carpet should be making its way to Edinburgh next week, I’m not holding my breath on that though, at least all the bedrooms will be ready when it arrives and we can actually get into the new bedroom.  It feels like I made up that we would ever sleep up there!  We have a wardrobe dilemma at the moment too, built-in? Ikea pax?  freestanding expensive but wait and use old one?  We keep going round in circles.  Ideally we would have doors  the same as the shutters but that does not seem possible without getting them made by a specialist company – really must get a price on that.  Whatever we choose will go in the space you can see on the far left below.

day 68 006

Time to wish you all a good weekend again, I’m hoping the sun keeps on shining and that the painting will be done by a fairy overnight.  Which is more likely I wonder? x

5 June 2013 Headphones

This polystyrene head appeared one day at our house, it was meant for my niece’s A/S Art coursework but it ended up here by a mistake.  It was meant to go in the bin but teenboy took a shine to it and he has had it in his room ever since, just waiting for a use.   Today he got new x-box headphones ,they are brilliant, so he says.  Anyway, the polystyrene head is now a headphone holder, I think they are a perfect match.

The regeneration has just about come to a grinding halt, the blog has been sorely neglected and I am on a mission to put that right.  Tomorrow is painting day again, I must get the back bedroom finished.  The carpets are still not here, not a good conversation point for me at the moment.

We had a brilliantly sunny and sociable weekend, long may the sun shine here.  Here’s the dining table on Friday morning, this is where I sit when I write my blog most of the time.  It is not usually so clear and tidy!

Another dining table, this time it’s the one outside that actually got used for tea last night, a very rare occurance here in Edinburgh.  I love eating al fresco, it was fantastic last night apart from me bodging the mash by using the hand blender, I should know better, don’t ever make that mistake, it does something really weird to the starch in the potatoes.  Yuck.

I’ve not managed nature in the home yet today, it will be coming your way soon x

Day Seventy-Two

Not a lot happening here on the regeneration today, the painter has done all he can before we move furniture upstairs – he’s doing the last coat once everything is up there, only problem is the back bedroom needs to finish being painted (by us).  I’ll be up there tomorrow trying hard to finish the walls.

Other Stuff

This splendid wall light was made by F today at school. I think it’s amazing, can you guess the theme, your clue is Glasgow.

Got these beauties today hoping that they might grow so late since spring is eluding us this year.  I have chosen where they are going, near the summer house, just need to put them in.

I’ll be sure to show you them when (if) they come through.  Rain is pelting down out there so no planting today.
