Just thought I’d share a spontaneous purchase with you from this Saturday. It happened when I did a quick ‘stop and run’ to collect my copy of Mid Century Magazine issue 5 from Moleta Munro on Jeffrey Street . Whilst in the shop, my eye drifted round the shop past the gorgeous wishbone chairs and landed on this super little table that fits into the space between my bed and the wall perfectly. I am so pleased with it – it is the first thing I’ve bought for up there. Still no wardrobes!
Rushing again, out again for dinner, this time it’s Peter’s Yard in Stockbridge, Peter’s Yard. Report coming soon, x
We have carpet in all the bedrooms now. At last, it took lots of phoning and checking but it is here. Everything is getting closer to completetion upstairs but the mess downstairs has become quite overwhelming. That’s another story.
At least my new bedroom is clean, clear and tidy!
It took a lot of effort to get our trusty bed up there, the quilt cover is brand new and I absolutely love it. Any guesses who it is by? The furniture conundrum continues but I am now content to use what we have and scour gumbay for what we need, not that I know what that is yet. There are a couple of recent purchases I must show you once I’ve got them in situ, another another story.
Rice do great colourful, practical and unusual items and are based in Denmark. These bowls and plates were bought in the Ness sale in darkest winter and I found them under my bed (with 1000 other things including lots of dust). Have a look at their delightful website here. The coloured glasses are another favourite of mine, I have large and small in lots of colours and recommmend them wholeheartedly. cups in previous post
I am trying out a different theme for the blog tonight, I’m not sure if it will stay or go, what do you think?
The person doing the regeneration today was me, only me. At last my ‘bedroom to be’ is all white. It has taken an age and has meant overcoming severe inertia but I’ve done it. It is not actually FINISHED, oh no, but all it needs is a final coat tomorrow and it will be done.
The carpet people have said that the carpet should be making its way to Edinburgh next week, I’m not holding my breath on that though, at least all the bedrooms will be ready when it arrives and we can actually get into the new bedroom. It feels like I made up that we would ever sleep up there! We have a wardrobe dilemma at the moment too, built-in? Ikea pax? freestanding expensive but wait and use old one? We keep going round in circles. Ideally we would have doors the same as the shutters but that does not seem possible without getting them made by a specialist company – really must get a price on that. Whatever we choose will go in the space you can see on the far left below.
Time to wish you all a good weekend again, I’m hoping the sun keeps on shining and that the painting will be done by a fairy overnight. Which is more likely I wonder? x
