We were out visiting up at Balerno today and H had a great time with all the others and made some fab hanging hearts with our hostess with the mostest. You can see the result in the previous post.
I’m very glad we were out – when we left there were lots of men milling about and I think a lot has been done today. The hall was looking like a bit of a workshop, it’s all gone now though.

The upstairs has changed again, much more of the floor is down and there is a rather significant hole in the old bathroom ceiling now. That’s where the stairs will go and behind them will be an ensuite shower room with the window you can see in the last photo.

This is the view from the cupboard that had the old stairs in it. The gap from the stairs has nearly been filled in from above with new joists and insulation.

We are still without hot water tonight but the heating is good. Luckily I’m babysitting tonight so all of us piled down here and used the facilities – thanks family Ross. Hopefully we will be with hot water tomorrow.
The kettle broke this afternoon which is quite a trauma to someone who likes a cup of tea or two. Wonder if I should get a boil on the gas one this time, I always like the idea of them but I worry about forgetting about it and there being a disaster. Better get it sorted out quickly or there will be mutiny on The Regeneration from the crew, who also like a wee cuppa. I think one of them carries a kettle just in case and another has what he calls a ‘survival kit’ consisting of mugs, teabags and sweeteners. Must have been a boy scout.
Looking good. Sincerely worried about your kettle situation. I know how important tea is to you! Go for the boil on the gas, trust me the noise they make means you can never casually forget about them! x
Clare has saved the day with her emergency kettle. On a quest for the best ever kettle. Already thinking it is a mystical beast. Katie
